How we research and check our numbers
Every cost figure, government scheme and provider claim on this site is sourced from official regulators and statistics bodies — Ofgem (UK), the Australian Energy Regulator, the US Energy Information Administration, the Canada Energy Regulator, and Ireland’s CRU/SEAI — with a direct link to the source next to the figure. Where a source doesn’t publish a particular breakdown, or we’ve only reached it via a secondary source, we say so rather than guess. We publish our confidence level for each country openly on the Methodology & Sources page, rather than presenting every figure as equally certain.
This site is maintained by the Save Money On Your Energy Bill editorial team at Good Online Commerce Ltd. Figures are dated at compilation and rechecked as underlying sources change — we’d rather mark something as needing a refresh than leave a stale number live.
